Supplier of line caught MSC-certified Cod and Haddock from the Barents Sea in Norway

The Carisma Viking

The Carisma Viking is currently fishing in Eastern Greenland. Norway has a quota of 1200 tons in total of round Cod in this area. This fishery is one of very few actual Olympic fisheries in which the Norwegian longliners still participate. The landing time of the vessel will depend on when the quota is exhausted. This years' fishery in Greenland has been affected by extreme weather conditions, with waves of up to 15 meters. Because the vessel has the Moonpool system, the Carisma Viking has been able to fish every day. This particular system has tremendous advantages for crew safety. The extreme weather hit the Norwegian coast as the hurricane "Nina" on the 10th of January 2015.
